Awareness
Awareness is the greatest agent for change.
Reaching the Community by being in the Community.
We participate and lead outreach events around the city centered on Suicide Prevention, PTSD and removing the Stigma of Mental Health.
Engaging our veterans and their families in the community provides an open environment for them to speak freely. Finally, it lets them know that there is Hope.
Hope
Hope - sees the invisible; feels the intangible;
achieves the impossible.
Having Hope will Give you Courage.
Our Veteran Navigators are our front line connection with veterans. Whether a veteran needs assistance with benefits, employment, education or housing; we can connect them with those resources.
Many times all the veteran wants is to just sit down, have a cup of coffee with another veteran and enjoy some good ole Camaraderie.
Camaraderie
Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.
Band of Brothers
We provide opportunities for our veterans and their families to connect with each other to build strong support systems.
A few examples are:
-Monthly Meet & Greets
-Attending local sporting events.
-Outdoor events.
-Physical Activities.
-Community service focused on veteran causes.
Suicide Prevention
Making Suicide Prevention Training as common as CPR.
Be There.
We train veterans, active duty, reserve, national guard and their families in Suicide Prevention and CPR/AED at NO COST to them.
This type of training takes the fear and hesitation out of starting conversations about mental health and substance use problems.
Giving our veterans and their families the tools needed to start a dialogue so they can get the help they need.
Breathe
In honor of Sgt. Elias M Wade USMC.
Take A Breath.
In honor of Sgt. Elias M Wade USMC, we give deserving veterans and their families a day away from the worries of the world and allow them to take a breath.
In some cases, its a dinner and night at the movies, others its a day at Worlds of Fun or a weekend at the lake.
Boots on the Ground
Homeless Veteran Outreach
Leave No One Behind.
Every month, Team Fidelis walks homeless camps and locations where homeless congregate to identify veterans in an effort to find them housing and ensuring they are receiving benefits they have earned.
In addition, we provide them a pair of boots and other items they need.
